{what do you see - blogtoberfest day XXV}

I got to wondering this morning, what it is dear peeps that brings you to my blog?  I don't feel like I've been a very good Blogtoberfest host this year.  The reality of my life at the moment hasn't left a lot of time or energy for blogging, and I've felt like a bit of a fraud to be honest.

I am so grateful for the gift of friends to share my journey with.  So I pondered this morning.  What is it exactly that finds you here?  What makes you take time out of your busy days and nights to stop by my little corner of the world?  Is it the art, or perhaps the dreaming?  Or is it something entirely different?

What do you see when you look over here at me?

  1. Oooh ! Good question! I see someone who celebrates the colour in life in all its hues - who sees patterns and connectivity in all we do...someone who is strong and motivates others to join in!

  2. I like it cause you're real. You tell us straight up what the deal is. I hate fakeness. It's pov!

  3. I see an Artist that is honoring her AUTHENTICITY in many ways, big and small and I always find that to be INSPIRATIONAL =-)

  4. It is you. Your way of looking at life, your considered words and thoughts that make me ( who is rather bull- at- a- gate) stop and think and slooooow down.

  5. You've been a great host! :) so grateful for you hosting this. You've pushed me to blog 22/24 days! That's awesome. So thank you.

    In reply to your message: I'm so scared to do a run but I'm at least gonna do the training and see where I am in about 33 days (my husbands sis is running a marathon on thanksgiving day). Also the biggest thing about NaNo is you don't have to have a plan when you start. I didnt last year and did 33,000 or so. I'm so proud of that! :) let me know if you sign up...I'll support you thru it!

  6. I love your honesty. You don't pretend to have it all together, like so many bloggers out there. You know what I mean? You're real!
    Reading your blog is reassuring and entertaining.
    You just seem like a real, good chick!
    Thank you for hosting Blogtoberfest! It is a massive commitment and endeavour and you are doing a great job. It's a journey of discovery and I'm very happy to be on it with you at the helm!

  10. I think I stumbled over here from someone else's blog a couple of months ago. I like seeing your journey as an artist.

    I don't consider myself an artist by any stretch...(well actually that's not entirely true...in the musical sense perhaps), but I do like to dabble in creative things!

  11. I love looking at your art. I dabble a bit in painting and crafty things and looking at the work of others is inspirational.

  12. I am actually really glad that you haven't been a perfect host because it has made me feel ok about missing some (or more) days too, I like to come here and find a real person and your art is lovely too but it is the reality and the journey that attract me. Cherrie

  13. I only 'found' you recently, via another blogger's page but I've so enjoyed following you this month. I don't think there is any one thing that is the draw, it's the fact there is so much variety in your pages, and the chance to share some of your amazing artwork.

  14. Well, I am still chuckling about your mum asking if you can dive like the divers in the commonwealth games! I like your stories, your not too many words, you always have nice photos, I am abit jealous about that. A thoughtful chick going along, living life. Sorry- not much about the art, but I do quite like it!

  15. As others have already mentioned, I enjoy your honesty. It's refreshing to find bloggers who write with their own voice and about what they want to write about versus writing to be 'popular'. Love your artwork, too.

You seeme like a no nonsense, talented girl, not unlike myself ... well that is except I'm a zillion years older :)
    You're doing a top job on Blogtoberfest, stay as sweet as you are, Thanks Heaps. xo.

  20. Hi Cathy, I am here because you are a rare gem. When I met you at AAJ, I felt this right away and it is not something that I feel often. So, now here I am on another continent getting to know you better here in blog world where we are all neighbors and just steps away.

  21. I've been a bad blogtoberfester too.
    The posting part has been great for me but I haven't visited enough of the other sites. Keeping up with my reglular blogs has kept me busy enough.
    Perhaps we should all try to make a huge effort in the last week.
    And I love to visit here because you make me think and I like the way you look at the world and because you seem real and honest.

  22. I like to visit because you are real and say a lot of the things I am thinking. I like to follow your artist's journey as well. I can relate to a lot of it myself xx

  23. This probably won't be all that inspiring, but there's three reasons I visit you;
    1. I've met you and talked to you in person so I like to see what you're up to
    2. I like that you're honest. Too many of us lead 'perfect lives' on our blogs and you'd think there's narry a bad day among us!
    3. Your pictures are nice to look at!

  24. I see someone who is real and who isn't afraid to express the ups and downs that are a normal part of life. I see an artist with a unique view of the work and a unique way of expressing it. I see a friendly, happy, worried, normal person!

  25. That was supposed to say "unique view of the world" hmm.

  26. You keep it real. there is no smokescreens to hide behind, you tell it like it is and most of all you have inspired me to relook my life and the areas I haven't quite been 100% happy or settled with and make changes! I like the way you write.

    Are you going to do nanowrimo? I signed up EEK... Not sure how I will go nor where I will find the time, bit it's part of the grand plan (sound familiar???) wish me luck and let me know If you play along too ;)

  27. I like your straightforwardness, the fact that you get me back blogging each autumn, and your bold artwork.

  28. I would have to say your honesty and 'realness' as well. So nice to read honest posts. Also a really interesting journey. Nice to follow your progress as you learn new things, try new things, have hopes and dreams... even better that the dreams are becoming reality now! Lou.
