{did i scare you? - blogtoberfest day VIII}
I scared me. Didn't think I was going to get here at all today.
And then I was pretty sure I didn't have anything interesting to say. Still am.
See what I mean? Even though I blog most days, I still find this daily business a big challenge. Especially when life gets super busy, which it has been the last couple of days.
And I put a lot of expectations on myself too, when it comes to blogging. You know the ones. It has to be interesting, or lovely to look at, or exciting, or, or, or..... During Blogtoberfest it intensifies all the more.
Sometimes though, you've just got to let yourself off the hook I think. Cut yourself a bit of slack, change the rules or throw them out the window. One of my intentions for this year was to be kind to myself. I think I'm getting pretty good at it.
And on that note, I'm going to take the rest of the day off, and save the Friday Giveaway for tomorrow. I promise you it's worth the wait. I'm sooooo excited about it.
I'll see you tomorrow peeps!

I was the same insofar as what have I got to say today? Not much. But a photo tells a story in itself.
ReplyDeleteI fully support being kind to oneself. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, you are so cute. I often don't have anything interesting to say and if I do then I don't have time to say it... hmm, why do I blog? Well I just generally enjoy it and the whole blogging community so I guess that's why I stick around. Enjoy the rest of the day. Lou.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you!:) Heart warming to read your post today and know I'm not the only one with these challenges! Hope you have a FANTASTIC day off!
ReplyDeleteGood on you. I don't think you should even apologise. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteOoh, a Friday giveaway on a Saturday. What a rebel.
ReplyDeleteFridays should be for winding down and chillin', I think. And didn't a certain Bear think a certain think which goes like this "Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering."
enjoy your "day off", looking at that list of blogtoberfesters i would be packing my bags and leaving town
ReplyDeleteLearning to be kind to yourself is a wonderful thing to improve (I'm still practising!).
ReplyDeletePS. I'm finding while Blogtoberfest is challenging, it's helping me to just 'chill' out about what I'm posting on my blog ... so thanks for the awesomeness and inspiration! :)
Everyone has so much to say everyday, wherever you look/listen. A day of saying nothing is not such a bad idea. Imagine it!
ReplyDeletei love that picture of you =-)
ReplyDeleteone of the things i love about blogging is that you can post a picture with a simple commentary and it can be the best post ever...or you can put some thought into something you want to share with others and it becomes a long but well thought out post that also becomes the best post ever. there are no hard and fast rules - it's AWESOME!!
and you can test out all styles of blogging in the month of Blogtoberfest =-)
I love that this post is nice and simple....no bells and whistles! I somtimes stress that I don't have anything to say.....think I might be kinder to myself in the future!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, saying nothing really speaks volumes!!! Good for you for not letting the pressure get to you!
ReplyDeleteoh i hear ya!! i wrote a list of things that I might blog about during Blogtoberfest - but ive been stuck!
ReplyDeletei missed out on yesterdays post, been so busy and offline all weekend! I will definetely try to get back into it this week....cute self portrait girl!!
I was thinking about spending one day and lining up all my Blogtoberfest daily posts at once. LOL Is that cheating? ;-) But seriously, I don't even get to use the computer some days - Kieron and I are now sharing one computer. Not easy!!!! Mainly, I just want to visit everyone's awesome blog spaces!
ReplyDeleteI like your self portrait. :-) We should all do one of those.
