Oops, and Ouch

The back step gave way yesterday morning as I rushed out to get some clothes off the line for work. Thankfully nothing broken, just some painful spraining.

An accident or a message to slow down? Maybe I'm supposed to quit work, or bring the washing in on Sunday nights in readiness for the week. Interpretations welcome.

  1. i always think that things happen for a reason. i am so sorry you are hurting. but perhaps you will get some things done you might have otherwise put off, while you are down and nurturing your poor foot. hope you feel better soon.
    loves!

  2. Ouch! I am so sorry you hurt yourself! I suspect it might be a message though, to slow down and think inwardly. Or perhaps "watch where you're going" (as the universe is trying to tell me all the time!)

Hope your ankle feels better soon!

  5. How about it's just time for you to take care of yourself for a brief moment. We all have times when we need to do that but usually don't until something prompts us to do so. Be good to yourself, and happy healing!

  6. Ouch! Slowing down can be a very good thing, though. Maybe it's an indicator that you're doing too much right now!! Some restorative time out might be just the thing. I hope it heals quickly! (But not so quickly that you don't get to relax a bit.)

  7. After standing on a bee last night in the dark and having to sit on my butt while everything calmed down, I'm thinking it's just a message to maintain the house and slow down a little. Must be the time of year really.

  8. Whether that's the universe speaking or not, I think there's no better excuse to put your feet up... and contemplating ways to slow down and find your direction.

I have a friend who swears that she always hurts her feet when she can't find a way ahead....

  12. Don't try to read too much into it - just enjoy some 'down time' with your feet up! So pleased Saturday went well.....and so disappointed to have missed it!

  13. I think it's a message to slow down. Or maybe a message to take some time off work and put your feet up...say, at a craft table? Or in front of a canvas? Hope you feel better soon!

  15. Poor you :-(

It's quite clearly a sign that housework of any kind is dangerous and should be avoided. I learnt my lesson after spraining my ankle tripping over the vacuum cleaner. No more vacuuming for me! I don't enjoy extreme sports....

  18. Ouch is right! I am constantly banging into something, etc.... I know I need to slow down and actually think about what I'm doing and where I'm going.

  20. Listen to what your body is telling you. I have learned the hard way that rushing and trying to do too much is very harmful to the body and the spirit. Hope you are better soon. Don't rush the recovery as it may not heal properly xx

  21. You poor thing ... I hope your foot is better soon. It sounds painful!

Oh and remember your first aid: R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, creativity, elevation). At least part of that formula will make you feel better!

  24. OMG! thankfully it was only one stair that broke...

my crystal ball tells me that you just need to take time for more healing, though i'm inclined to agree with Mel that 'housework of any kind IS dangerous' =-)

but ultimately, only the future will tell what the true outcome will be...do i sound sufficiently gypsy-like??? ;)

  25. ouch! That looks sore.
My brain just isn't up to any deep interpretations today :) So I'll just add: take good care of yourself Cathy. And rest. And make sure you have people serve you cakes and lots of cups of tea while you recover!
