BLOGTOBERFEST - Day 14 - I Totally Do

I'm a dreamer. Known to be taken by flight of fancy, grand ideas and heartfelt desire. And it suits me just fine.

When I was a child I knew instinctively that my life was meant to be filled with adventure and that my wildest dreams were meant to become reality. As I grew up and learned some of the hard lessons that life has to teach I slowly but surely lost my faith. At one point I couldn't even bear to hope. It was too painful.

The most wonderful thing about returning to my creative path is reconnecting with my dreams and finding my faith again. Some days it's fleeting, but other days I'm blown away with the power of it.

  1. yes, those 'hard knocks of life' can REALLY knock the wind right out of you...

i am realizing that it's time to TRULY step into my artistry and share it with like-minded folks because when i am doing my art thing there is MORE MAGIC in my life than when i'm 'following the crowd' and 'doing what's expected'.

it's a been a tough lesson to learn but i just know the end result is totally worth it =-)

  2. feeding a creative gift is so important. if we don't give a voice to creative istinct an integral part of ourselves shrivels up. good on you for finding that soulfull place and giving it a voice

  3. I think sometimes its harder in a way not to be creative. Its harder to do something else when the ideas are in your head and you have to get them out.

  4. It is an amazing feeling, isn't it? I spent 20 years not sewing, not doing artwork, grinding away at Uni and in the workforce. But in the past 2 years since I have started creating again, I feel alive. As simple as that.

  5. I can totally relate to what you are feeling. As a child I was full of adventure, loved creating things etc, but for some reason I lost that in my teens and didn't get it back until a few years ago. Now that I am a SAHM it's even more so. It's my release from being a Mum and the stresses that go with it, but it's also thanks to the wee person for letting my imagination grow again.

  6. Life takes many different turns, I guess it depends on which path we choose to walk doesnt it as to where it leads us. Those life lessons are sometimes very disheartening arent they. I believe that the crafty world is a fantastic delightful one full of people who we can learn from and share our joys and individuality too and be accepted for what we love doing and it does make the world a better place to be. You follow your dreams as I am you will achieve them.

  8. I really relate to this post. Sometimes when I'm have a particularly great day now, I get this overwhelming feeling that this is how I felt when I was young. And I start to feel like I'm more me than I have been for a very long time.

  9. When I was a kid, my dad used to tell me to "get my head out of the clouds". It's taken me quite a bit of my life to find that head in the clouds part of me again but I'm so glad I did. It makes me more of a whole person.

  10. All roads lead to your creative dreams ... its just that some are longer, steeper or bumpier than others. It sounds like you've got yourself a reliable GPS (generally positive state) to help with directions.
