You're Kidding Me Right?

I had to share this little gem. This is what my computer had to say to me this morning when I was prompted to change my password:

"The password supplied does not meet the minimum complexity requirements. Please selection another password that meets all of the following criteria:
  • is at least 7 characters;
  • has not been used in the previous 24 passwords;
  • must not have been changed within the last 0 days;
  • does not contain your account or full name;
  • contains at least 3 of the following four character groups:
  1. english uppercase characters (A through Z)
  2. english lowercase characters (a through z)
  3. numerals (0 through 9)
  4. non-alphabetic characters (such as !,$,#,%)
Type a password which meets these requirements in both text boxes."

I'll give you !$#% alright. I nearly had to turn around and go home.

Don't forget to drop your wish in the comment box for the chance to win a collage. I like being the keeper of wishes. It feels, to me, to be a very worthy cause.

  1. There are no words to express how I would feel if I was to face something that complex first thing in the morning....
    Previous 24 passwords (are they serious)

  2. oh my god...that's hilarious I would have sat gobsmacked for a good part of the morning, repeating....are they for real!

  3. Eeek!!!
    Our work puters say to us "Your password will expire in 14 days, do you want to change it now?" and then keep asking every day. grr. And I just went to change my address at VicRoads site and the computer told me I didn't exist. ARGH.
    Techo-bureaucracy be damned!

  4. OMG! this sounds like something that would happen at my office ;)

    BTW: i forgot to mention the beauty of the collage you are giving away - i love all that green for GROWTH and the little bird "taking flight" =-)

    thanks for offering to hold so many dreams - it is indeed a worthy cause!

  5. lordy you'd need a little lie down and then a big strong cup of coffee before coping with this...

  6. I hope this wasn't at like 8a.m. as i migth have just packed up ball & gone home. Oh, that is complicated for me as i think i've been using the same basic building block password since my first Dollarmite Account at school. Crack that hackers!! Love Posie

  7. rofl!! Those instructions definitely meet the minimum complexity requirements... ;-)

  8. I cannot believe you can't remember your last 24 passwords? whats wrong with you?
