I've always had a thing for Babushkas. I think it's about time they made an appearance in some of my artwork. Stay tuned.

  1. you are not alone with the love of babushka. I had some when I was little. I have some from NZ that are Maori warrior and his family basically getting smaller ending with a little baby... I bought them for Busy of course!

  6. I love babushka dolls! Growing up in Russia I did not have them as a toy. They are quite traditional but kids do not really play with them. They are more as a home decoration. When I came to Australia I was really surprised that they are so popular and even bought a few:)

  10. One of my daughters loves the "nesting dolls" and has Hallowe'en and Christmas themed ones. I like the babushkas myself.

  13. i love Babushka dolls too...its so cute to see them featured in all forms of crafting and art work too these days.
    i have some special wooden set from Russia that I was given 15yrs ago - my boys arent allowed to touch it haha

  18. My grandma had a soft babushka set when I was a child. My mum was telling me last week that I was learning sizes and she'd been through small, very small and minute, and from then on, I referred to the smallest one as my newt. So I think I'm going to include newts in my artwork.
