you are not alone with the love of babushka. I had some when I was little. I have some from NZ that are Maori warrior and his family basically getting smaller ending with a little baby... I bought them for Busy of course!
I love babushka dolls! Growing up in Russia I did not have them as a toy. They are quite traditional but kids do not really play with them. They are more as a home decoration. When I came to Australia I was really surprised that they are so popular and even bought a few:) These ones on the pictures are really cute ones! I will post some of my Russian collection on my blog http://plushkacraft.blogspot.com/
Very appealing, they are just something I could never get sick off and probably never will! Love to see your interpretation of a babuska doll in your art work too...
i love Babushka dolls too...its so cute to see them featured in all forms of crafting and art work too these days. i have some special wooden set from Russia that I was given 15yrs ago - my boys arent allowed to touch it haha
What a photo, such vibrant colors ~ I've collected just a few of those babushka dolls over the years... you have such a wonderful blog!!! Thank you for sharing! Hugs, Christina
My grandma had a soft babushka set when I was a child. My mum was telling me last week that I was learning sizes and she'd been through small, very small and minute, and from then on, I referred to the smallest one as my newt. So I think I'm going to include newts in my artwork.
