Enough

One of the things that is really speaking to me at the moment is the idea of seeing myself as whole and knowing that I am enough. In a world dominated by speed, the principles of paced living and considered action that I like to live my life by, often feel challenged.

I'm finding it hard to imagine that I'll be able to hold all the pieces together over the next month: family, exercise and health eating, work, getting ready for markets, BLOGTOBERFEST, time with friends, being creative, and generally doing things that are good for my soul and help in maintaining sanity and balance.

So I have a goal. To trust that I am enough. To shift from a place where I so easily start to feel powerless and sorry for myself, to seeing myself as whole and wise and capable. I wonder what might happen if I start to see myself in this light? I don't just wonder for me, I wonder for you too.

  1. Thank you for these words. I have thought about this before too, but it is something that I needed to hear today.

    Again, thanks.

  6. "whole and wise and capable" ...that's exactly how I do see you.

  7. a common ideology amoungst like minded women. a quick and easy fix is to try to be 'in the moment' of all that you do. i break this rule often, but it is a good one to live by. lovely post

  8. being a craft artist in "a world dominated by speed" IS tricky and so is the concept of feeling that we are enough as we are. but i think i know what will happen when you start to see yourself as whole and wise and capable - your inner "Wise Woman" will emerge, and you will share that amazing love and wisdom with an ever growing circle of like-minded folks, just as you are now =-)

  10. From over here where I am sitting, it's all so bleedingly obvious: you are way more than enough! But I get that that isn't the point of things. It takes a paradigm shift, a conscious decision, some risk taking and/or a discovery or three. Let me know when you get there. I apologise in advance - I won't be able to stop myself from saying "I told you so!"

  11. While I am sure that you are surrounded by many people who love you who will tell you again and again that you are enough, this is clearly about you. And the way you see yourself, not how other people see you. But that is an interesting thing to do... look at the way you see people and how surprised you are about what they don't see in themselves. Do you think they see us like that?

Thanks for making me think while you are too. xxx

  13. Why is it that some of us seem to struggle with who we are, that we should be more,do more, or be better, when others see us as oh so much more than we do?

Don't know, but certainly Midge's advice of trying to live 'in the moment' is good advice. Changes in this area take time, it is after all a shift in our whole cognitive thinking process that we have developed over our whole lives.

Belief, or self belief, sounds so simple but sometimes so unatainable at the same time.
