Honourable Thoughts

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and emails on my last post. A tentative mouse hovering over the 'publish post' button is a frightening place at times.

I was thinking last night, that with truth comes honour. I feel like I've finally honoured myself, my friend and our relationship by being honest about it. To live our lives and our relationships wholly and completely is impossible without truth. I've been reminded of my passion for living a truthful life. Even when it involves taking risks, even when it involves stepping so far out of my comfort zone it's frightening.

I already feel lighter, more open and ready to move forward in the world. The seeds of plans and dreams are sprouting again. Here's to coming unstuck, in the best possible way.

  1. I was saddened by your post yesterday, sorry that there's no second chances. I think your point about honouring your friend is a good one. I hope your lingering feelings of guilt can fade away with the acknowledgement that your friend was a difficult person, and remembering the whole of who she was.

  2. Hey honey, Just read this post then yesterdays and am sending loving thoughts to you...life can be horrible and shitty at times...I've been there with death and regrets and probably will be again...we're human...not robots...yes we can become a bit wiser as we go along but usually only 'a bit'! If it helps for you to put your thoughts down in writing (...and you are a truly gifted writer...it's true) keep writing...nobody else sees it as 'orrible ugly truths'..it's life honey...we identify...we're there with you...sending love and hugs...

  4. Hey Cathy. I read yesterday's post with a heavy heart and didn't know what to say. I still don't - but I'm glad that your honesty has helped to lift some of the burden. Thinking of you, x Gina

  5. Oh Cathy, I just read yesterday's post. How strong and brave to face all of that so honestly and eloquently. I think I share with that truth-seeking spirit with you... no matter where it leads.

    Why live any other way?

    Much love to you.

  6. Love & hugs to you Cathy.
I respect your ability to express your thoughts & feelings. I'm a bit stumped to think of what I would do in your shoes. By talking about these & other difficult issues, makes it just that little bit easier to deal with. Too many people hold things in & never have freedom from their thoughts. I hope this will pass & you will be able to remember the beautiful moments you both shared.
    Much love to you
    Kitty

  7. I'm glad to hear you have found a way to move forward. I am sure the lady involved would not have been happy to know that you were hurting so badly for so long.

  8. Just keep on reminding yourself that you have lots of chances in this life. Sometimes getting something off your chest is the best thing you can do. Sometimes it's the only thing you can do. Just keep on being the strong person you are and remember that you are a human being who deserves love.

  10. sometimes just putting thoughts into words gives you perspective and absolves some of the unspoken emotions like anger and regret that fester inside you if you don't give them a voice. so well done for articulating these feelings so well, now release them. maybe try writing a letter to your friend, she won't ever read your thoughts but you can offer them up
