I Am Alive

Acrylics and gel pens on Canvas

12 x12 inch

I left a comment on a post by Chasing Purple Dreams yesterday:

"I feel so alive when I paint".

It's so true.

  1. Stunning painting! And that’s exactly what you are doing right now blooming into this new stage in your life.
Selina just left a comment on the post you linked to saying she thought my painting looked nurturing – I hadn’t made the connection, but she is right and that’s what my life is all about right now. Amazing what our paintings can say without us really knowing hey!
I’m so glad you’re out of your funk, now we can be on a big joyous creative roll together. Hooray for creative highs!

  2. Oh yes you are! This is absolutely beautiful Cathy. I'm loving the background texture. To me, it looks like an old wooden fence in the background, with a garden planted in front.

  3. yeah, i agree with Cam, it does look like fence palings and I love the flowers are the poppies? they always remins me of my Poppy ( grandad) who died many eyars ago.

  4. Wow! I love the colours of this - bursting with life and energy!
I love it when you show us your paintings, thank you.

  5. this has an aboriginal feeling to me ... i don't know why. perhaps it's the circles. i love the energy of it.

  6. oh I love this one Cathy so gorgeous and speaks volumes. I will blog about my super duper pressie very soon xx

  7. This feels really different to your other paintings but loving it, especially the red on black

  8. This is so beautiful! I really love it and can see that you are quite alive as you painted this. It is so clear when an emotion guides a painting and with this one I can see it!

  9. Hey lovely lady, you won my giveaway! Let me have your email address and I will send it over

  10. How very vibrant! Looks like you're channeling great energy. Go, gesso!

  11. i love the reds and greens! so fun and just so inspiring. i love where you are going. miss you tons. hugs
