The Ugly Stage

I've heard a lot of artists say that all paintings go through an ugly stage. Apparently you just have to work through it and you'll arrive at the other side with a wonderful new piece.

I don't know about this one. It seems like it has a long way to go to get to the other side.

  3. The fact that you've started the creative process is a success within itself!

  4. I'm sure it will come out the other end Cathy, I know this stage very well and I think it's a matter of having to start somewhere like this to take us to where we need to go!! does that make sense???

  5. I think just keep going with it~ right through what you perceive to be the "ugly" or awkward stage, and into what clicks and feels right. I do love the vibrant colors on this one!

  6. Yes the good thing about painting is that you can just keep adding and it might end up being completely different to what you first planned...

  10. my paintings always seem to hit a strange stage, its like they don't know where they are headed and it all gets a bit confused! But they all seem to work themselves out in the end and on the odd occasion they don't, then at least I learned something from them! Lookig forward to the result, thanks for visiting me!
