A Magic Elixir

I don't usually play along with Eye Spy but today's theme and Curlypops got me in the mood.

I've been concentrating on healthy eating and losing weight lately which has meant some major changes to some of my previous habits. Evenings are still a time when I look for a little after dinner grazing. Instead of trying to deprive myself which I could never sustain I've just changed the types of things I eat. I couldn't have made it this far without crumpets and milo.

My other magic elixir now that the cooler weather is here is my bucket of wool. I love knitting and crochet but only ever partake in these activities in the cooler months. I look forward to the arrival of autumn and nights spent sitting on the couch with a project in hand. Knitting and crochet soothe my soul. I love their rhythmic nature. I've got quite a few projects planned for this season.

If you want to check out everyone else's magic elixirs pop over to Bug and Pop. Time to get back to my crochet. Perhaps first, a little snack...

  1. Just don't grab the wrong thing and take a big bite out of a goldeny hank of wool instead of one of those crumpets!

  2. Ahhhh the 1kg value pack tin of milo. You're a woman after my own heart.... which reminds me that I'm currently out of milo and reduced to drinking ovaltine...oh the pain of it all!

  9. Milo? And I am a big fan of ovaltine. It's what I have for a snack when I get home from work and it's still two hours until dinner. I know it's psychological but the thought of all those vitamins just fills me up.

Is Milo the same as Nestle's Quick?

  11. I agree with the crochet in Winter only! I can't for the life of me crochet in Summer, my friends daughter just had a baby and I am about to start a little beanie for him, but I just couldn't have done it a few weeks ago.

  14. Mmm. Crumpets! I love them. Not so good for my waistline though - I love slathering on the butter and the honey a bit too much!

  18. Oh ditto on the milo. Sometimes a hot milk one, sometimes a hot water one, and sometimes just straight from the spoon.
