How I love doing a big clean out. It always makes me feel so much lighter and fresher. We've been doing a major holiday clean out over the past few weeks, getting rid of all the unwanted and excess stuff in our lives. I always find clean outs to be quite emotionally cleansing and symbolic as well, and I was certainly ready for one at the end of last year. The studio was the last room on the list.
I started with this:
And now I have this:
Fresh and clean and organised. Ready for a year of creativity. I can't wait to spend time in there. I went to bed last night with a million ideas running through my head. Big dreams, the best kind.
I feel the same way. A throrough clean out also helps remind you what you have. I know that if I don't see it for a while I forget I even have it. Your stufio looks great!
Oh Well Done! I do love a tidy space which is why I wonder why I sabotage myself with clutter?!??!
I'm also afraid I can either have light or heat in the winter. While dh is away, I want to have another good look at furniture rearrangement in this studio.
Tinniegirl, I think you'll have to set up an organising-your-creative-space consultancy. For sure I would hire you! My creative space is a pigsty I tell you. You've inspired me to clean-up ... round the edges at least!
I just love a good clean...makes you feel so much better. Your new clean room looks great...looks like a lot 0f creating is going to get done in there! Hope you are doing well. Cheers Kyla
I love the cleaning out process. Twice a year I clean out my clothes closet as I move the summer/winter clothes in and out of storage. I love the neat, organized look and feel of the closet. Now, if I could only learn to keep it that way.
Arhhh, that's great! That's one of the best feelings isn't it, all cleaned up, organised, sorted, with lots of clean open space for a whole new year to begin!
I know exactly what you mean - you feel lighter and things are in perspective .... I've started keeping spare garbo bags in my bedroom, so that everytime I say to myself .."I don't need that / wear that anymore .." out it goes straight away to Vinnies. Hmm...lighter!
Oh wow, where have you been hiding that fabulous easel? The desk under the window will be lovely for sitting and dreaming and creating.
