Fresh

How I love doing a big clean out. It always makes me feel so much lighter and fresher. We've been doing a major holiday clean out over the past few weeks, getting rid of all the unwanted and excess stuff in our lives. I always find clean outs to be quite emotionally cleansing and symbolic as well, and I was certainly ready for one at the end of last year. The studio was the last room on the list.

I started with this:

And now I have this:

Fresh and clean and organised. Ready for a year of creativity. I can't wait to spend time in there. I went to bed last night with a million ideas running through my head. Big dreams, the best kind.

  10. Oh Well Done! I do love a tidy space which is why I wonder why I sabotage myself with clutter?!??!

I'm also afraid I can either have light or heat in the winter. While dh is away, I want to have another good look at furniture rearrangement in this studio.

  12. Tinniegirl, I think you'll have to set up an organising-your-creative-space consultancy. For sure I would hire you! My creative space is a pigsty I tell you. You've inspired me to clean-up ... round the edges at least!

  18. I love the cleaning out process. Twice a year I clean out my clothes closet as I move the summer/winter clothes in and out of storage. I love the neat, organized look and feel of the closet. Now, if I could only learn to keep it that way.

  22. I know exactly what you mean - you feel lighter and things are in perspective .... I've started keeping spare garbo bags in my bedroom, so that everytime I say to myself .."I don't need that / wear that anymore .." out it goes straight away to Vinnies. Hmm...lighter!
