Losing My Way, And Then Finding It Again

Hello!  How are you?

Oh my goodness, what a week.  As well as my blogging break there has been:
  • A trip to Sewjourn that was like a perfectly balanced meal.  Salty and sweet, spicy and sour.
  • A complete collapse.  All the exhaustion, the holding it together, the trying to be all things to all people, the emotion, finally caught up with me.
  • 3 days spent almost completely in bed.
  • Eating of an inordinate amount of chocolate.
  • No exercise whatsoever.
  • Strengthening of important friendships, and beginnings of new ones.  Letting go of some others.
  • Renewal.
  • Realisations, home truths, cold hard facts and recognition of decisions that need to be made.
  • Chicken, leek and bacon pie.
  • Bookbinding, painting and some guerrilla crochet.
It's good to be back to blogging.  I've missed it, and I've missed you.

Maybe I'll see you tonight at the NCB.

  1. Oh I wish I could make it to NCB tonight to catch up with you, but it's been a crazy week and I'm going to have to give it a miss again!
    So sorry.
Glad to see things are back on track for you.
    Talk soon, Cinta

  2. Don't like to quibble, but aren't "inordinate amounts" and "chocolate" mutually exclusive terms? Anyway, glad to see you back in this space!

Thanks for such a lovely weekend at Sewjourn.

  3. Dang it, wish I could be there too. I hate winter and all the lurgies my family has been getting. Meanwhile - you sound like you've had one helluva week. I hope the ups have been greater than the downs. xxx

  5. I've missed you, and I wondered how your weekend away went! I'm glad you've decided to slow down a little. I have too, but it's awful when days in bed are the catalyst for that decision.

Not long to go now until your opening! I really wish I could be there. But I'm secretly planning a footy weekend away sometime in August for me and Scott and I think some extra time with my Melbourne peeps (and fabric shops) will be well deserved!

  6. I hope all the blah of the past week was adequately compensated by the small mercies.

I was hoping tonight would be my NCB debut, but it's just occurred to me that as Hubby's out for a work dinner I'm obliged to stay home while Jack sleeps. How annoying!

  10. Are you saying it was YOU? I have been madly trying to figure out who warmed the stork up.

Hope you continue to recover from your case of the red meanies and yay for having the courage and strength to take stock.

I've just posted a blog about a painting of mine (Brett Whiteley-like). You were in my thoughts when I posted it.

  15. I am so glad you are back with us. x
I can relate to the letting go of friendships, sometmes you just drift so far apart that it is like there is not much left in common, it is hard.

  17. If it weren't for the downs, we wouldn't enjoy the ups so much, you know. Life's kinda like that.

Hope the weekend is more up than down.
